The Wandering Emperor | MTG

I spent a lot of time (gross understatement) playing MTG as a kid; it's how I decided to become an artist, in fact. This piece for MTG's "Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty" was like a personal love letter to OG Kamigawa, and to that time in my life. The overall feeling is also greatly influenced by my love of Japanese woodblock printing, specifically the work of Yoshida Hiroshi (look.him.UP!). Art Direction by Zack Stella, who hit me up early and let me go late in order to make sure this one came out awesome. Cheers Zack!
