Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord - 2018 | MTG

This was my first planeswalker assignment for Magic: The Gathering, and it was a really cool brief. I pasted it below for those interested, and I've also included the sketches here...I was pretty stoked on both of these, honestly. ***PLANESWALKER - VERTICAL ASPECT***
Setting: During the WAR OF THE SPARK on RAVNICA
Color: Planeswalker associated with Black & White
Location: A deserted tower or rooftop on Ravnica, or some other awesome, epic location for a fight scene.
Intent: Sorin is an ancient vampire-lord who is currently in a 1-on-1 grudge match with his nemesis, the rival planeswalker Nahiri. The two of these powerful old-school planeswalkers have met on the city-world of Ravnica to fight it out.
Action: Show the vampire planeswalker SORIN
MARKOV (see ref) preparing to attack the viewer, as if we were his nemesis Nahiri. Blood-red vapor curls off his body like smoke, an indication of his powerful blood magic, and maybe he readies his sword to slash us in half. Give him a touch of battle damage --maybe blood trickles from a tiny slice on his cheek.
Focus: Sorin
Mood: To 6000-year-old Sorin, everyone is an ant to be squashed. "I should have ended you long ago, impertinent child."
