In 2021 AD Christine Foltzer hit me up to let me know that the final book in The Locked Tomb trilogy would actually be TWO books, and that as such we'd need to paint another cover (the cover for Alecto the Ninth had been finished the previous year). Much later, when I was able to share the piece, I had this to say (copy-pasted from IG), and I think it’s still nearly the best I can do:
"This book (yea i read it no biggie OH MY GOD I LOVED IT I CRIED A LITTLE) is such a beautiful ray of sunshine and strangeness from the radically wonderful mind of Tamyn Muir, whose very existence is a perpetual blessing in my life. A galaxy of thanks also to @tordotcompub and my AD @cfltzr for their respective roles in bringing the band together and continuing to let me be the first to do fan art of each new book. Honestly it is just thrilling to be a part of this series and there are too many emotions so I don’t know blarcghfkjdfhjkdsahfasdf or whatever. You know, things about bones ☠️🖤
PS. Hamburger believers, this one is especially for you 🍔"
